*Beep, beep, beep! BEEP, BEEP, BEEP!*

I woke up this afternoon and bounced out of bed feeling excited. Oh, you know that feeling of opening a new box and getting a new piece of technology? Yippee! Can't wait to play around with it later! So we spent part of the day doing some gadget shopping (thanks to my mom for the super early birthday ang pow hehe) and then went home to get ready for dinner with my sisters in Kepong.

(That was written on November 15, 2015)

Happy not-so-New Year, friends! Yes, I'm well aware that it's already March lol. Oh, well. Okay, I've procrastinated long enough.

Take Eat Easy Modern Bakery & Cafe @ Wisma Fiamma (near Village Mall, next to Sin Choi Wah Banquet Hall)

While looking for a parking spot, we passed by the building and at first glance, I thought of Take Eat Easy as a bar-cum-restaurant rather than a bakery-cum-cafe.

What is this? Alien?

As I walked into the cafe, I was taken aback by the somewhat mystique setting and the lighting, which was on the pleasantly darker side.

Mighty Breakfast (RM26.80) for dinner? Hell yeah! Since we were not feeling too hungry, we ordered two to share.

Smoked Salmon Salad (RM16.50)

Not sure if this was Ralph's Tropical (RM12) or my sister's Hawaiian (RM10), but all juices were served in a cute light-bulb-shaped glass bottle!

Bery Berry Cake Slice (RM9.50) - don't remember what it tasted like, or even if I liked it or not.

I ordered a Vanilla Latte (RM10), while another sister opted for a Caramel Latte (RM11).

Brownie Waffle (RM15.50) to satisfy my nighttime sugar craving.

Although the food didn't totally blow us away, it was enjoyable. Towards the end of our meal, we were told that we could keep the light-bulb-shaped glass bottles and we were like, "Oooo... no wonder we see them on almost every table!"

Oh by the way, one sore point is that the cafe does not have a washroom, so get your things sorted before coming in.

Sunday, December 06, 2015

It was December, it was cold, it was raining outside. However, I felt all warm-n-fuzzy inside and craved for something sweet after dinner.

#1

This little cozy cafe, which was located at Encorp Strand Garden Office has a welcoming atmosphere with super friendly owner and barista! As I mentioned in my previous blog post, we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Coffeels Coffee Kitchen. Unfortunately, it has now permanently CLOSED. I wonder why?

Anyway, I decided to finish this abandoned draft instead of deleting it.

So after ordering, we sank into one of the comfy couches while the handsome barista bought our cakes and drinks over.

#4

#5 Red Velvet Cake (RM11)

#6 Green tea & Apple (RM6)

#7 Baked Oreo Cheese Cake (RM13)

#8 Nutella Espresso (RM12.50)

Normal ice cubes are merely just water, so they can dilute your beverage, but these "ice cubes"?

#9

#10 Babycino (RM5)

#11 Who can turn down Magnum Waffle (RM15)?

#12 Caramel Macchiato (RM11)

The cakes were delicious (not obnoxiously sweet), so was the Nutella Espresso!

#13

And now here we are, December. Oh, but I'm so elated today! Long story short, we were at this restaurant called Fusion in Damansara Uptown. So, as I was about to sit down, I suddenly turned around and my mouth opened in absolute shock when I saw my mom!

"Why didn't you let me know you were coming?" I asked while we hugged each other.

"SURPRISE!"
