Yesterday was Dong Zhi, one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese and other East Asians.

Traditionally, the Dong (winter) Zhi (arrival) Festival is also a time for family reunion. One activity that occurs during these get togethers is the making and eating of 'Tang Yuan' or balls of glutinous rice, which symbolize reunion and harmony within the family. It is also the day when everyone becomes one year older.

In my family, we don't celebrate Dong Zhi and as far as I can remember, I have eaten 'Tang Yuan' twice only in my life or maybe not more than 10 times, I should say. The worst thing was, I didn't realize until mom called and told me it was Dong Zhi yesterday! *shy*

Talking about family reunion, yes, I am going back to Sabah for the coming Chinese New Year!!!
