When Mr. Kim invited us for dinner in a Korean restaurant at Sri Hartamas, first thing came to my mind was definitely my favorite kimchi and kimbap a list of Korean dining etiquette rules especially dinning with elderly people. At first, he brought us to a Korean BBQ restaurant but it was full house. So we went to another Korean restaurant but I can't remember the name of the restaurant.

#1 It is owned and run by a Korean woman.

#2 What first catches my eye are the traditional Korean-style tables; extremely low tables on a raised platform. Oh no, I was wearing a denim mini skirt! There's no other option. So, we sat on the floor with shoes off, of course.

#3 Mr. Kim was having a hard time to translate to us some of the dishes in the menu.

#4 Therefore, we let him order the food.

#5 Banchan (side dishes).

#6 Kalguksu (literally "knife noodles") is a Korean noodle dish consisting of handmade, knife-cut wheat flour noodles. It is served in a large bowl with broth and other ingredients.

#7 Kimchi (Korean national dish).

It is made with cabbage and other vegetables and a variety of seasonings, including red chili peppers. Koreans can't go anywhere without this famous spicy cabbage and I love Kimchi very, very much, too!

#8 We were told, when having a meal with the elderly, wait for the elders to hold their spoon first.

#9 Jokbal. They are very, very spicy but absolutely delicious.

#10

#11 Baekseju (literally "one-hundred-years wine") is a Korean glutinous rice-based fermented alcoholic beverage flavored with a variety of herbs, ginseng most prominent among them.

Do not decline the first glass of alcohol.

I took a sip. Gosh. Please kill me!!

#12 Fish. Another wonderful and tasty dish.

#13 Chamisul (literally meaning "real dew"), the most popular variety of soju (distilled beverage native to Korea).

It is against traditional custom in Korea to fill one's own glass. Instead, someone else at the table must fill it. A glass should not be refilled unless completely empty and should be promptly refilled once empty; it is considered rude to not fill others' glass when empty. To pour a drink, hold the bottle in the right hand with the left hand touching the right forearm or elbow. When receiving a drink, rest the glass in the left palm and hold it with the right hand.

#14 Gaeran Jim (steamed egg dish).

#15

When sitting on the floor for a meal, men should cross their legs while sitting on the cushion. Women may sit with their legs to the side but do not straighten out under the table. However, I was a little uncomfortable because my legs were very numb!

Overall, it was a wonderful meal, a wonderful experience. One suggestion for the ladies, don't wear a mini skirt.

First of all, I'd like to apologize for not dropping by your blog and also remiss in replying to your comments. I couldn't even update my blog because my laptop was infected by virus through network shares few days ago when I was at Starbucks, Centrepoint. Thank GOD it's fine after reformatting it by a friend. I miss all the assignments given. I miss my blog and I miss my blogging friends!

Secondly, I've totally forgotten about my blog's first anniversary which was on the 20th Aug! When I saw a new visitor dropped by and said "Happy Blogoversary", then only I realized I've been blogging for a year now. Well, I have some awards for my blogging friends. But, please give me some time; I will post about it soon.

Lastly, I'm facing a problem with my PayPal account! So far, I didn't verify my PayPal account because I wanted to wait until it reaches certain amount then only I withdraw one shot instead of withdrawing from time to time. On Wednesday, I went to Al-Rajhi Bank to open a savings account (Mudharabah Savings Account-i) and I received a Visa Debit Card on the spot. It's just for the purpose of transferring the money from PayPal to this bank account and withdraws the money with the debit card. When I linked and confirmed the debit card to get my account verified, PayPal slapped me with this - We were unable to verify this credit card. Please check if the information you entered is correct. If the problem persists, please try to enter a different credit card. I've activated my bank account and I'm sure the information I entered is correct. I called Al-Rajhi Bank's hotline number and asked them about this. They said I've to use another debit card from another bank!?!? I do not want to use my credit cards as I've experienced with credit card fraud before. Now I'm not sure what the problem is. I really hope someone can help me or guide me on this. PLEASE.... Anyone?

Last Thursday night, we went to One Utama for dinner. Mybf wanted to try Shogun Japanese Buffet, but I do not want him to end up paying RM100++ (RM50.00++ per pax) for the buffet because we have to rush like mad cows after that no time to stay as long as we like and eat as much as we like since we had bought tickets for 11.25p.m. show.

So, we went to Hachi (8)-ban Ramen instead.

It was almost 10p.m and we were the only customers!

The history - In 1967, a small, crude ramen shop opened along Route 8 at Kaga city, Isikawa, Japan. Because of the high reputation of this shop’s main menu, vegetable ramen (noodles), many customers stood in line to eat the famous ramen. Although there were only 25 seats in the shop, 300 bowls of ramen a day were sold during their peak. “Hachi-ban Ramen”, was named after Route 8 and the master of the shop was Chouji Goto, the founder of Hachi-ban Ramen Group. We believe serving the vegetable ramen repeatedly is the way to extend our passion for ramen to the customers.

Teriyaki Set (RM13.80).

Dumplings.

Gyuniku (beef) Ramen Set (RM15.80).

Food was OK, not the best and nothing special.

Initially we planned to play pool, but 20 minutes before the movie starts, I dragged mybf to check out the karaoke near the bowling centre. We haven't tried this before, so I asked mybf to give it a try. Anyway, it's only RM1 per song!

Karaoke rooms.

The moment we entered the room, omg, my washroom is bigger than this room!

I tell ya, this is the WORST karaoke experience EVER. The sound system is very, very poor! When mybf sang the first song, I could only hear the guy next to our room shouting singing his heart out and I saw him dancing. When I looked at him, he looked at me and smiled. ohmygod! When comes to the second song, I could only hear the loud music from the speakers as if the room's going to explode soon and we couldn't even find the button to adjust the volume! I know, I know. It's only RM1 per song. What do I expect, right?

At that point, I couldn't stand anymore so I pulled mybf out.

We watched The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and I enjoyed it immensely. The filmmakers mix Hollywood adventure with Chinese martial arts and fantasy (known as "wuxia" films). What a grand pleasure it is to watch Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh, the two world-class stars in action again. Plenty of action in fact. Well, if you've seen the first two movies, you already know the characters and the movie will make sense. If not, you may want to do some home viewing before your trip to the theatre.

On the 08.08.08 at 8p.m, we had to attend the opening ceremony of Kay's Café at The Waterfront @ Parkcity. But, I was late due to oversleeping!

Waterfront@Parkcity, located in front of the Le Venue, Desa ParkCity.

Kay's Café opens its doors.

Bar counter.

Wooden seats in the far corner; a great date spot.

Spacious outdoor dining area.

Outdoor section, which overlooks the lakes. It was so relaxing!

David, the Café Manager. Thanks for the invitation!

Cappuccino.

Overall, the ambiance was nice and cozy. It was dimly lit enough and the service was pretty standard. I didn't try all the food (probably there's no reason for me to wake up and have a ravenous appetite), so I can't say much about it. However, there was this boy who has captured my heart *ahem* that evening.

See, this cute little boy was full of cute expressions!
