This is the first time in my life I have lower back pain caused by menstruation!!! It's like the most painful condition I could possibly experience in my life. I am not sure is giving birth more painful than this. But the lower back pain that I experience is very painful and annoying. It hurts so much to stand up straight, and my legs get so weak I can't walk properly. Ralph was freaking worried when he saw me walking like someone shoved a broomstick up my ars a hundred year old woman.

I fell gloomy, just like the damp weather.

It's a very, very uncomfortable symptom to endure. FML I just want to live pain free, right away!

Surely giving birth is more painful than the back pain but the latter can be very painful. Lucky my period cramps/pains not so bad. Can still move la. ;) ;)

I don't know if it will work but drink camomille tea to ease the pain.

sorry about your pain. i hope it's nothing serious. it's probably due to some hormonal changes, is it? that pain must be one awful thing to go through.

life ramblings said... @ 15/8/09 9:49 PM

how about trying evening primrose oil Mon? it's not that expensive and it's effective for pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS) related difficulties.

life ramblings said... @ 15/8/09 9:50 PM

get plenty of rest and happy weekend.

Soak in a hot bath - as hot as you can possibly stand it. That will help ease the lower back pain.

I'm sorry to hear that Mon! Sometimes menstruation could really hurt. So you'd better take care.

Not really uncommon to have some discomfort in your lower back area, could be associated with bleeding fibroids that you would notice more during your menses. You should ask your doctor about it. Sometimes pain associated with your cycle can be reduced with exercise, sometimes with iron.

I'm old enough that those days are long since gone; but child birth from my experience is far more intense; and as a person who has back problems nothing about back pain is good. I'm heading today though for a massage...can hardly wait.

Good luck
Sandy
Hope you'll swing by for a visit.

Gosh! Am I glad I don't have periods and cannot give birth! Maybe that's why I think women are tougher than men. I think women can take pain better than men. It's nature's way of making women able to handle pregnancy and giving birth!

Hope you are OK now. Maybe accupressure helps? Or have you heard of those magnets that can block pain?

Especially the Iyengar one. It helps to relieve back pain and it's safe too.
Hope you can find it near you!!
