I don't have a vase, so I put these crystal soil into a wine glass. 
Then add some water and soak them for a few hours according to the instruction on the package. When these crystal soil beads are fully saturated, insert the plant into the crystal soil. Add water occasionally to prevent them from drying out. Easy, right?! 
By the way, I am not sure what kind of plant this is. I just plucked it from the roadside.
