Yesterday, we checked our BMI using the body mass index (or BMI) and the calculation indicates that Ralph is overweight - obviously! And, mine is right on the border between underweight and ideal. Smiley Calculating BMI is important for our overall health because being underweight or overweight can lead to problems with our health.

However, body mass index should only be a guide, and will not be at all accurate in some circumstances. A trained athlete or someone with very muscular body will often show on a BMI scale as obese. There are definite limitations with the BMI measurement. As many fit individuals like you can attest they may have a higher-than-expected BMI because they have a big body frame or lots of muscle mass. These people may weigh heavy but still be lean and fit.

Anyway, as a not regular exerciser, Ralph said he seriously should find ways to lower his weight before he reaches the obesity range. He did some research and from the Information on Exercise Equipment, he found that the best type of cardio equipment is of course the Tunturi treadmill. Simple and easy to use, it is ideal for jogging and running alike. They have an advantage over running outdoors because they are much more low-impact on the joints. Smiley And when you're indoors you can watch TV at the same time. Plus you won't get rained on or chased by dogs either.

Another exercise machine that can help you lose weight and that has increased in popularity over the past few years is the Tunturi elliptical trainer! This machine allows you to be able to move your legs in a walking or running motion while also moving your arms using the handlebars, while having a low impact on your joints, as your feet never leave the pedals. Smiley

So now that he has identified what his goal is and my question is: "when is he going to start exercising"? Smiley

I used to go to gym just to cut off some calories but i don't want to have that kind of build hehe

i lost 10lbs since giving birth doing nothing but breastfeeding but i want to lose 5lbs more =P

i just want to be fit and healthy though doctor told me not to lose anymore :-P :-P
