Movies have the power to take us places we've never seen before. And sometimes, they inspire us to actually get up and see those places for ourselves. A few days ago, I watched a pleasant romantic comedy called "French Kiss" on DVD with a bunch of my girlfriends and I have to say it is a delight! It's uplifting, funny, and the scenery was magnificent.

French Kiss is an American-made romantic comedy film set primarily in France. This movie isn't deep or serious, but it's habit-forming. Watch Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline travel from Paris through the French countryside to Cannes. There are great shots of Paris, Cannes and the French countryside. This is the kind of movie that makes me want to instantly jump on a plane and get to France. The French cities are exciting, and the views of the countryside are lovely. Even if I can't hop a plane, I can experience the sights and sounds (even the tastes, with some imagination) of French destinations through movies shot or set in France.

Have you ever seen a great flick with some cool scenes of France?

In the meantime, I am surfing the net and prepare to travel France FROM MY COUCH. Smiley

France is a great place to have a vacation. The food is great, the wine is superb and there are lots to see and do. Everybody knows that Paris a great place to spend part of your vacation but where else in France should you go?

The eastern section of France consists of the Alsace, Lorraine, Franche Comté and Burgundy regions. Here again, one finds a landscape of verdant, rolling hills dotted with beautiful cities including Metz, Strasbourg, Nancy and Dijon. This region produces many delicious world class wines, including incomparable pinot noirs and chardonnays valued the world over. Western France vacations, towards the Atlantic coast, hold the treasures of Normandy & Brittany, with their rolling hills, sandy beaches and quaint, tranquil harbor towns.

The world renown, South of France is quite extensive; where, in addition to the fabulous coast, big cities like Marseille and Toulon are also true must sees. The Provence, as well, is enchanting, adorned with tiny villages and luxuriously aromatic lavender fields- a must see for any France vacation.

The Southwest of France is home to the Dordogne, one of France's quintessential regions. This valley is immensely beautiful, its towns are genuinely hospitable and the food is so fantastic, it's difficult to fathom the citizens of this region contemplate going elsewhere for their vacations. Holiday villas or farmhouses in the Dordogne or Burgundy are the perfect choice of accommodation for anyone who has a passion for wine, and for sun soaked beaches!
