by Mayumi Itsuwa!
Do you know this song or this singer?
Apparently, she was a very famous Japanese singer and songwriter. After "Koibito yo (meaning my dear lover)" became a hit, Itsuwa gained popularity also in non-Japanese Asian countries during the 1980s.
Ralph was so shocked he nearly fell off his chair when I told him I've never heard of this song or this singer before, ever, in my life!
This song was a departure from her signature folk style. Recorded in Paris France, it has lush string arrangements and an air of melancholy drama. It's a beautifully written tragic love song about a break-up story where the woman is freezing on a park bench, waiting for her lover to come back...

Hi Dear! :* :* :* :*
Nice Jap song and luckily have English subtitle for us to understand what is the meaning of the song. =-X 8-)
Mayumi Itsuwa was among my late mother's favorite Japanese singer. She would play Mayumi's tunes while doing her chores or hobbies. She spoke Japanese, so go figure.
Another of Mayumi's epic ballads was "Revival", ckeck it out I'm sure many of you have heard it. I called it the rain song because the intro has the sound of rain drops.
OK, I'm mellow now. So before I get any mellower here's wishing you happy mm and have a great week Mon:)
Namz recent post Beer Anyone?
Hi Michael!! :* :* :*
hahaha yeah happy listening 8-) 8-)
Hi Namz, indeed Mayumi Itsuwa was among the few best singers in Japan back in the 80's. Her songs are loved by many and that includes Ralph. He said, the song 'Revival', that u mentioned is also called 'Ribaibaru' in Japanese. The song melody is so catchy and he just loves it. Anyway, he overheard Koibito Yo played somewhere in Low Yat plaza the other day and that was when he recalled that song. He said these songs reminded him of his childhood years...ahahhahahah!! :-D :-D :-D
Thanks Namz...happy MM! :)
Woot Woot love having my hollywood badge here . Rock on Monica :*
