A trip to ‘Malaysia's Green Bowl’ will not be complete without an excursion to the Sungei Palas BOH Tea Plantation, one of the most popular and photographed tourist attractions.

The one-lane road with two-way traffic leading to BOH Tea Centre, however, was very narrow and steep with many sharp turns, so be sure to honk at every blind corners on your way up if you were driving!

#5 The tea bush is botanically known as camellia sinensis. It's an evergreen plant with smooth, shiny, oval-shaped leaves and small white flowers.

#10 Located on a hilltop and amidst rows of tea bushes, the BOH Tea Centre houses a tea refreshment area (Tea'ria), a souvenir and tea shop as well as an exhibition area featuring information about the tea manufacturing process, benefits of tea and the history of BOH Plantations dating back to 1929.

#12 Tea'ria

#13 The BOH Tea Centre also boasts a 20 foot overhanging platform which presents spectacular views of the tea garden!

#14 The balcony area that extends over the hill is a favorite spot for visitors as they immerse themselves in the beauty of the surroundings while savoring one of BOH's many types of tea.

We sat on the balcony, enjoyed a freshly brewed cup of BOH tea with tasty cakes while overlooking the panoramic view of tea plantation across the whole valley - a remarkable sight, giving us a sense of peace and calmness.

#18 Well, I'm not a huge tea drinker but I really enjoy sipping a cup of hot tea amidst the serenity of endless rolling green hills... Ummph!

Green, green everywhere...Everywhere I looked; there was the opportunity for beautiful photographs of the tea plantation as seen from the overhanging platform!
