The fourth day of our vacation found us in the beautiful city of Kaohsiung, the second largest city in Taiwan!
#1 However, before reaching Kaohsiung from Taitung, we stopped at a fruit store on the outskirts of the city.

#4 Summer time is mango season in Taiwan and it's what everyone waiting for!
The woman behind the counter told me that the mango was tender, juicy and sweet, and has a distinct tropical aroma, with somewhat of an apple flavor... blah blah blah."Shut up and take my money!"
So, we bought some of these eye-catching apple-red skin Taiwan-grown mangoes and enjoyed them in our hotel rooms. Oh yum, each bite was a taste sensation!

#9 Another eagerly awaited summer fruit is the rose apple.

#11 Busloads of tourists from China arrived the same time as we did, FOL.
#12 A Toyota Wish Cab
Cabs in Taiwan are yellow, mostly Toyota and all taxi rides start with a base fare of NT$70.
From there, we headed to one of Kaohsiung's top attractions.
#13
I was like, "Not temple again!"
Then our coach driver was like, "You're not only visiting a temple, but much more than that – monastery, hmmm... university, meditation center, hmmm... *pause and think* oh museum! *turn to me* Are you listening?"
"Ah, yes, I... am. *whisper* And I'm hungry."
"Great, we're here to have lunch too!"
"Woo-hoo!" *freddie mercury rage pose*
#14 The weather was very hot that day, so it was so comfortable to sit in the air-conditioned restaurant!
After lunch, it was time to visit Fo Guang Shan monastery, which is on top of a hill!!
#15 The 40-meter (132 ft) high Buddha statue
That was the only photo I took. So yeah, I didn't enter the monastery. #lazytourist
