The first time we came here, there were absolutely no empty seats. Two weeks later, we gave the cafe another try. The outdoor seating was crowded and there was only one little table available, right in front of the counter.



"Annyeonghaseyo!" the cashier behind the counter greeted me cheerfully.

"Hi, can I have that, please?" I smiled at the friendly guy (whom I thought was a Korean), pointing to a beautiful looking shaved ice dessert.

I didn't know what Bingsu was and it turned out to be a Korean version of our local ABC / Ais Kacang and Caffe Bene is an iconic coffee franchise that has many outlets around the world.



While waiting for our coaster to vibrate ("beep beep, your desserts are ready"), we heard the cashier greeted other customers in Cantonese. Ralph looked at me, scanned my face up and down and we laughed.


So, I went with one of the five different bingsu flavor options - Coffee Bingsu (RM12.80), which topped with a scoop of coffee gelato and sweet azuki beans piled in the middle with cashew nuts, chocolate corn flakes and chocolate chips around it.

We were told to mix it all up and eat it that way. Somehow, the combination was a little strange to me. All I can say is it just looked good in pictures, but taste wise, it wasn't really anything special or mind-blowing by any means.


We ordered three bingsu, thinking we could finish them, but boy were we wrong. The small sized bingsu was big enough for two or three people to share!


My favorite (if I had to choose) would have been the Strawberry Bingsu (RM12.80) that my sister settled for.


As for the Cookies & Cream Bingsu (RM12.80), it was a little too sweet for me, but I think Ralph loved it.

Well, I have yet to try any of their waffle creations, they do look tempting! And of course, Instagram-worthy haha.
