It was December, it was cold, it was raining outside. However, I felt all warm-n-fuzzy inside and craved for something sweet after dinner.

This little cozy cafe, which was located at Encorp Strand Garden Office has a welcoming atmosphere with super friendly owner and barista! As I mentioned in my previous blog post, we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Coffeels Coffee Kitchen. Unfortunately, it has now permanently CLOSED. I wonder why?

Anyway, I decided to finish this abandoned draft instead of deleting it.

So after ordering, we sank into one of the comfy couches while the handsome barista bought our cakes and drinks over.

#5 Red Velvet Cake (RM11)

#6 Green tea & Apple (RM6)

#7 Baked Oreo Cheese Cake (RM13)

#8 Nutella Espresso (RM12.50)

Normal ice cubes are merely just water, so they can dilute your beverage, but these "ice cubes"?

#9

#10 Babycino (RM5)

#11 Who can turn down Magnum Waffle (RM15)?

#12 Caramel Macchiato (RM11)

The cakes were delicious (not obnoxiously sweet), so was the Nutella Espresso!

And now here we are, December. Oh, but I'm so elated today! Long story short, we were at this restaurant called Fusion in Damansara Uptown. So, as I was about to sit down, I suddenly turned around and my mouth opened in absolute shock when I saw my mom!

"Why didn't you let me know you were coming?" I asked while we hugged each other.

"SURPRISE!"

I remember coming here on...

... Christmas Day when the restaurant was newly opened last year. Oh, don't raise your eyebrows. Yeah, Christmas comes and goes and, hey-ho, before I know, it's less than 2 months until Christmas 2015. Ho Ho HOLY SHIT!

#throwback It was a wet and windy Christmas - but certainly not a white one. We intended to spend the whole day in jimmies and wait for Santa to arrive, but then we received a text message from my siblings: "We should totally catch up, it's been a few weeks since we last got together."

Oops. Guilty.

So on arrival at the restaurant, we were given the limited a la carte Christmas menu. We asked the friendly waitress if there were any roasted turkey and she said it must be ordered in advance.

"Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool?"

"Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full"

So, uhh for our appetizer, we ordered Apple Mint Lamb that served with apple yogurt mint sauce. Yum!

I like the scent of lavender, but lavender in beverages? Maybe next time I should try the Lavender Latte.

My chicken dish, I don't remember the name, but it was quite good.

Wildberry Soda

Ralph was pleased with the delicious New Zealand 250g prime tenderloin steak - cooked medium rare, as he always likes it.

The rest ordered either chicken or steak, nothing fancy schmancy, just good food and enjoyed each other's company. Since we all still wanted to hang out for a bit after dinner, we decided to go to a cafe nearby - first visit and absolutely love it! Sadly, I heard it has closed its doors. Maybe a post on it next!?

The lovely birthday gifts I received from Mariuca!

In case you're wondering, no, it isn't my birthday today. It was um, a few months ago, but I'm expert in backdated blog posts so you know how it goes.

Current emotion: 80% battery

Well, it's late at night (er, wait, 11:30 pm? is that late?) and here I am blogging in peace when the rest of the world (or, more specifically, my time zone) is asleep. I love the nighttime - the stillness, the coolness, the odd sense of vitality I feel - Ralph says perhaps I was a vampire in a former life.

Any night owls still awake?

So a few days after my birthday, I received a padded envelope and I couldn't wait to open it because I knew who it was from hahaha. As I opened the envelope, I was thrilled with the contents and the sweet message that accompanied the card.

Frankly, I was quite surprised to see the Pandora gift bag and my jaw literally dropped when I saw the charm in the Pandora box!

Celebrate wisdom with this adorable wise owl charm made from sterling silver with green cubic zirconia.

I had mentioned briefly at one point that the wise owl charm (from the Autumn 2013 Collection) was out of stock when I wanted to purchase it last year and she was certainly paying attention.

I was humbled by the fact that she sent me a gift, something totally unexpected. The fact that she went to the trouble of getting the perfect gift, of having it gift wrapped so elegantly and sent to me, is appreciated more than I can say!

Still over the moon that my special friend gifted me a charm, my first Pandora charm. It had been on my wishlist since I had first gotten my Pandora bracelet that I wear every day - even to bed and in the shower, it's on my wrist.

Super love this Hard Rock Cafe (Amsterdam) Couture Charm Keychain that has lots of cute pink charms on it, too! Cute, huh?

THANK YOU SO MUCH to my generous and gorgeous night owl/coffee/pinky/best blog buddy for the awesome gifts!

By the way, I've no idea where the 'wise owl' stereotype originally came from and are they actually wise?

Owl Bee Bach!
